Sylvia Garcia is a Community/Youth advocate who works for La Plazita Institute. She facilitates traditional healing programs such as Acudetox (Auricular Acupuncture), cleanses (limpias) and facilitates (sweat lodge ceremony) for all tribes and indigenous groups who reside in the ABQ area. She connects underserved families and individuals to social services to improve overall health and self sufficiency and she is currently providing direct services to the Youth Detention Center facilitating leadership curriculums. Sylvia believes in holistic approaches to personal development and wellness as well as the motto “La Cultura Cura” “Culture Heals.”
